HASTINGS, Minn. (WCCO) ―
A 19-year-old Lakeville, Minn. man has been charged with stealing and then pawning his mother’s wedding ring.
According to charges filed in Dakota County, Andrew Joseph Fischer stole the ring valued at about $2,500 and pawned it on Oct. 13, 2008.
Fischer’s mother noticed the ring was missing on Oct. 19 and immediately suspected her son had taken it to pawn it, as he had done so previously.
The ring was traced to a pawn shop in Burnsville, where it was also discovered Fischer had also pawned a digital camera and electric tools stolen from his mother’s residence.
Investigators said Fischer admitted to stealing the items, according to the charges.
Fischer has been charged with felony theft and gross misdemeanor possession of stolen property.
Fischer contacted WCCO to say that the allegations againt him are untrue.
